In the quiet, pre-dawn hours of July 6, 2025, the sound of gunfire cut through Wilmington's downtown riverfront. Officers patrolling near the 100 block of North Front Street rushed toward the bursts and found 34-year-old Raquan Wilson gravely wounded. They performed life-saving measures and transported Raquan Wilson, a 34-year-old male, to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
