On December 31, 2023, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers from the Laurinburg Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex located in the 700 block of West Boulevard in Laurinburg, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 35-year-old Rashawn Lamonte Thompson, a Black male from Maxton, North Carolina, deceased from a gunshot wound. The suspected shooter, also a resident of Maxton, surrendered to the Laurinburg Police Department immediately following the incid ...
