On March 5, 2024, at approximately 10:58 p.m., the Robeson County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Downy Road near Rowland, North Carolina. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 17-year-old Kaden Malachi Strickland of Pembroke deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
