On September 10, 2017, the life of 24-year-old Michaela C. Gingras was tragically cut short when she was found murdered in Boston, Massachusetts. A native of Manchester, New Hampshire, she was discovered on the top floor of a triple-decker home on Santuit Street in the Dorchester neighborhood.
The investigation into her death led authorities to 30-year-old Lance Holloman of Dorchester.
Holloman was not only a suspect in Michaela's murder but was also connected to another fatal shooting that same day. Hours before Michaela's body was found, Holloman allegedly opened fire on two motorcyclists on Interstate 93 in Dorchester, killing 32-year-old Scott M. Stevens Jr. and injuring his father. It is believed that Michaela was with Holloman in a rented Jeep at the time of the highway shooting.
When police responded to a 911 call at the Santuit Street residence, they found that Michaela's body had been wrapped in bedding and moved. Investigators also determined that there had been an attempt to clean the area where she was killed. The subsequent investigation revealed that the 911 call was not made until hours after the shooting had occurred. This led to charges against several of Holloman's family members for allegedly misleading investigators. His mother, sister, and the mother of his child, a Boston police officer, were all accused of hindering the police investigation.
Lance Holloman was arrested and formally charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of Michaela Gingras and Scott M. Stevens Jr. on September 15, 2017. His arrest brought a swift development to a violent and tragic case that spanned multiple crime scenes and resulted in the deaths of two individuals.
