On April 7, 2024, at approximately 7:00 p.m., 21-year-old Xeniel Yhamil Baez was fatally shot in the 2600 block of Druid Hills Way in Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers discovered Baez with an apparent gunshot wound; he was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Baez was a recent father; his son, Xeniel Rey Baez, was born on March 29, 2024. Originally from Puerto Rico, Baez moved to New York City in 2007 before relocating to Charlotte. H ...
