Massaquoi Kotay, a 45-year-old Liberian immigrant, tragically lost his life on January 12, 2017, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kotay was a business owner who operated a convenience store on North Tryon Street. On that fateful day, he was working in his store when two men, Shalome Scott and Desmond Black, entered the premises. Scott, armed with a gun, shot Kotay during a robbery attempt. Despite his efforts to seek help by running to a neighboring store, Kotay succumbed to his injuries and died. ...
