On April 20, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Goldsboro Police Department officers responded to a welfare check in the 400 block of Fussell Street in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals inside a residence suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as 53-year-old Jamelle Monque Best and 44-year-old Elainna Michelle Ebersole. Emergency Medical Services pronounced both individuals deceased at the scene.
