On June 3, 2024, at approximately 2:34 p.m., officers from the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 500 block of Albany Street in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 64-year-old Jasper Collins suffering from gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
