On June 5, 2024, at approximately 5:47 p.m., Goldsboro Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1600 block of South John Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 18-year-old Goldsboro resident, Tysher Davis, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services transported Davis to UNC Health Wayne for initial treatment; he was later transferred to ECU Health in Greenville for further care.
