Upon arrival, they discovered 15-year-old Ishmel Yusef "Mello" Hargett with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Following an investigation, authorities arrested six male teenagers, aged between 14 and 17, in connection with Hargett's death.
Each was charged with murder and taken to the Pitt Regional Juvenile Detention Center. Due to their ages, the identities of the suspects have not been publicly disclosed.
