On August 1, 2024, at approximately 8 a.m., Winston-Salem police responded to a security check in the 1900 block of Leight Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 32-year-old Barry Bevionta Richardson inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services pronounced him dead at the scene.
