On the night of August 2, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a violent incident occurred in the 3500 block of Shamrock Drive in east Charlotte, North Carolina. During a home invasion-style robbery, multiple suspects forcibly entered a residence, targeting 57-year-old Jose Octavio Cruz with the intent to steal $1,000. The assailants opened fire, resulting in a quadruple shooting that left Cruz dead and three others critically injured.
