Jayla Symone Barnett, an 18-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on April 14, 2022, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred at a Shell gas station on Albemarle Road, near the border of Mint Hill. According to reports, Jayla was in the parking lot of the gas station when she was fatally shot by another female around 5 p.m. Paramedics rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, Jayla was pronounced dead on site.
