On September 14, 2024, at approximately 1:40 a.m., Henderson Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at 1126 Maple Street in Henderson, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 40-year-old Romids A. Miles with a gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by police officers and Vance County Sheriff's Deputies, Miles was transported to a medical facility where he later succumbed to his injuries.
