In the early hours of October 6, 2024, Salisbury Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the parking lot of 127 East Innes Street in Salisbury, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds. One of the victims, 47-year-old Donald James Krajnyak, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was transported to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, where they remained in critical condition with life-threatening
injuries.
Following a swift investigation, detectives identified 23-year-old Alexus Burshell Bost as the primary suspect. She was apprehended at approximately 6:00 a.m. at a residence on New Jersey Drive in Salisbury. Bost was subsequently charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder and is currently held at the Rowan County Detention Center without bond.
