On October 25, 2024, 18-year-old Zackary Evan Rieken was fatally shot in south Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred just before midnight in the 12800 block of James Blakeney Avenue. Responding officers found Rieken inside a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
