In the Bronx, a 22-year-old man named Miguel Vargas was fatally shot on the evening of Monday, February 13, 2023. The incident occurred at approximately 6:57 p.m. inside a building located at 689 East 187th Street in the Belmont neighborhood. Emergency services were dispatched to the location following a 911 call about the shooting. Upon arrival, police officers discovered Vargas with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
