Isaac Collins was a 21-year-old male from the Bronx who was killed on February 15, 2023, after gunfire erupted in the late afternoon on East 176th Street. Police said the calls came in around 5:21 p.m., drawing officers to 273 E. 176 St., where they found him wounded in the torso.
He was rushed from the street to St. Barnabas Hospital, but the injuries were too severe, and he died there.
The shooting was treated as a homicide, and investigators began piecing together what happened from the frantic minutes after the shots, when the area was still in motion and witnesses were still trying to make sense of what they’d just seen.
In the hours and days that followed, detectives focused on the people seen running from the scene. Police asked the public for help after reports that four males were seen fleeing westbound shortly after the shooting, but no suspect names were released in connection with the case. The NYPD described the investigation as ongoing, and at the time the case details were published, there had been no arrests announced.
