On July 2, 2023, Alexander H. Crawford, a 39-year-old father of five from Troy, New York, was fatally shot outside a Family Dollar store in the Lansingburgh neighborhood. The incident occurred at the intersection of 102nd Street and Second Avenue. According to his obituary, Crawford was shot while attempting to protect his son during a confrontation.
