On July 8, 2023, 37-year-old Daquan Sullivan was fatally shot on the 1300 block of South State Street in Syracuse, New York. Emergency responders arrived shortly after 9 p.m. and attempted life-saving measures, but Sullivan was pronounced dead at the scene. This incident marked the 13th homicide in Syracuse for that year.
