On the evening of September 7, 2023, at approximately 9:12 p.m., Angel Rojas, a 30-year-old resident of the Bronx, was fatally shot outside his home at 1955 Sedgwick Avenue in the University Heights neighborhood. According to law enforcement sources, Rojas was involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified man just before the altercation escalated.
