A fatal encounter on a Thursday evening in the Bronx claimed the life of Angel Rojas, a 30-year-old Hispanic man. The shooting transpired on September 7, 2023, just outside his residence at 1955 Sedgwick Avenue in the University Heights section of the borough. Law enforcement sources indicated that the incident, which occurred at approximately 9:12 p.m., stemmed from a verbal altercation that Rojas was engaged in with another individual.
The dispute tragically escalated when the
unidentified male suspect produced a firearm and shot Rojas multiple times in the torso. Following the gunfire, the assailant reportedly entered a gray sedan and quickly fled the location. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported Rojas to St. Barnabas Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
