On October 12, 2023, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Ithaca police responded to reports of gunshots near the intersection of North Plain and West Seneca Streets. Upon arrival, they discovered 45-year-old Ernest Lankford of Ithaca deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.
