On December 1, 2023, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a fatal shooting occurred inside the Popeyes restaurant located at 1000 East Ridge Road in Irondequoit, a suburb of Rochester, New York. The victim, 30-year-old Jose Centeno Torres of Rochester, was shot multiple times in the upper body during an altercation involving several individuals. He was transported to Rochester General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
