On April 29, 2024, at approximately 6:50 p.m., 32-year-old Trent Jackson was fatally shot in the head outside a New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) building at 2791 Dewey Avenue in the Throggs Neck neighborhood of the Bronx. Officers from the 45th Precinct and PSA #8 responded to a 911 call reporting a person shot. Upon arrival, they found Jackson covered in blood from a gunshot wound to the head.
