On May 4, 2024, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Rochester Police Department officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation and multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the 500 block of Lyell Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds inside the residence at 525 Lyell Avenue.
