On May 26, 2024, 42-year-old Darius R. "CoCo" Spates Jr. of Buffalo, New York, was fatally shot outside Luxor Steak & Lobster, located at Main Street and Winspear Avenue. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m., after which Spates was transported to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) in a private vehicle. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
