In the early hours of August 5, 2009, Joseph Lovett, a 25-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in Buffalo, New York. The incident, which also resulted in the death of 19-year-old Jamie Norton, unfolded outside a residence at 72 Hirschbeck Street in the Broadway-Bailey neighborhood. Lovett, a father to a young son, was visiting family and was leaving when the shooting occurred.
