In the rural town of Woodhull, New York, a violent encounter led to the death of 57-year-old Wayne E. Mosher. On the morning of Saturday, June 22, 2024, the Steuben County 911 center received a call at 8:44 a.m. from a man who stated he had been in an altercation with another person on County Route 101 and had fatally shot that individual.
Deputies and investigators from the Steuben County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. Over the next 20 hours, the Steuben County Evidence Collection Team processed multiple scenes connected to the incident. Investigators conducted over a dozen interviews and obtained several search warrants to piece together the events that led to Mosher's death.
The investigation led to the arrest of 24-year-old Bradly J. Maddalena of Wellsville. Authorities allege that Maddalena intentionally caused the death of Mosher by shooting him with a firearm. He has been charged with second-degree murder, a Class A felony.
Following his arrest, Maddalena was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court. He was subsequently remanded to the Steuben County Jail, where he is being held without bail. The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the Woodhull Volunteer Fire Department, the Steuben Emergency Management Office, and the New York State Police.
