In the summer of 2024, a senseless act of violence cut short the life of Jeremiah Cummings, a 37-year-old man in Harlem, New York. On the afternoon of July 2nd, Cummings was with a group of men on West 118th Street and 8th Avenue when a car drove by. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Mohamed Sawaneh, allegedly rolled down the passenger-side window and opened fire on the group.
