An argument on a late Sunday evening in Phoenix, Arizona, escalated into a violent encounter that left 37-year-old Cory Harrell fatally wounded. On November 27, 2016, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Harrell and another man, 46-year-old Raymond Woolfolk, were on the light rail platform near 24th and Jefferson streets when they became involved in a physical altercation with an unknown male.
The dispute took a tragic turn when the unidentified man produced a handgun and opened fire on both Harrell and Woolfolk.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and both victims were transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds. Despite medical efforts, Cory Harrell succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Raymond Woolfolk, who was initially listed in extremely critical condition, also died from his injuries a few days later.
