On September 11, 2024, at approximately 12:13 a.m., Nassau County police officers responded to a call on Wayside Lane in Wantagh, New York, where they discovered 32-year-old Yinauri Antonio Taveras lying on the roadside with a fatal gunshot wound. Taveras, originally from Amityville, had recently been dividing his time between Puerto Rico and Westbury.
