In the city of Syracuse, New York, a life was tragically cut short on October 7, 2024. Dostdar Ali Khel, a 16-year-old male, was fatally shot in a residence on Herbert Street. The Syracuse Police Department responded to a call of a shooting at approximately 11:33 a.m. and found the teenager with a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the death of Dostdar Ali Khel, who was a sophomore at Henninger High
School, quickly led to a suspect. Later that same day, authorities located and arrested a 13-year-old male in connection with the shooting. Due to his age, the suspect's name has not been publicly released. He was taken into custody on First North Street and transported to the Hillbrook Juvenile Detention Center.
The teenage suspect faces serious charges, including second-degree manslaughter and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
