On October 7, 2024, 16-year-old Dostdar Ali Khel was fatally shot at a residence on the 300 block of Herbert Street in Syracuse, New York. Responding to reports of a shooting around 11:30 a.m., police officers discovered Khel with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Syracuse Fire Department.
