On April 15, 2023, 33-year-old Ahmad Simmons was fatally shot near the intersection of East 37th Street and Prospect Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. Officers from the Kansas City Police Department responded to the scene around 10:41 a.m., discovering Simmons unresponsive on the ground; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Another adult male victim was found with non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
