On April 17, 2023, at approximately 5:15 a.m., St. Louis police responded to a call regarding suspicious occupants in a vehicle located in the 2700 block of Semple Avenue, within the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men inside the car, both having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as 43-year-old Sterling Turner Jr. and 30-year-old Robert Cook, both residents of St. Louis.
