On October 8, 1977, a tragic event unfolded in Richmond Heights, a suburb of Saint Louis, Missouri, shattering the peace of a local congregation. Gerald Gordon, a 42-year-old Jewish male, was attending a bar mitzvah ceremony at the Brith Sholom Kneseth Israel synagogue.
