On May 29, 2023, 42-year-old Wardell Brandon Woods was found deceased inside a residence in the 5200 block of Walrond Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. The Kansas City Police Department responded to a medical call just before 12:30 a.m., which was subsequently upgraded to a reported dead body. Upon arrival, officers discovered Woods suffering from unknown trauma. Despite first aid efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.
