In the early hours of Memorial Day, May 29, 2023, the life of 42-year-old Wardell Brandon Woods was cut short in Kansas City, Missouri. A Black/African American male, Woods was discovered deceased inside a residence in the 5200 block of Walrond Avenue. The Kansas City Police Department had initially responded to a medical call at the location shortly before 12:30 a.m., but the situation was quickly escalated to a report of a dead body upon their arrival.
