In the early morning hours of Memorial Day, May 29, 2023, Michael P. Kaminski Jr., a 42-year-old male, was found shot on the sidewalk of the 800 block of Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard, near Laclede's Landing in St. Louis, Missouri. Police responded to the scene just before 4:30 a.m. and discovered Kaminski had sustained gunshot wounds to the hip and abdomen.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and authorities have sought the public's assistance in identifying those responsible. Security footage from the area reportedly captured two men approaching Kaminski and shooting him twice before leaving the scene. In June 2023, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department released still images from security footage showing two male suspects they believe are connected to the homicide. Law enforcement officials have stated that the individuals in the images should be considered armed and dangerous.
At this time, no arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the murder of Michael P. Kaminski Jr. The identities of the two suspects seen in the security footage have not been released, and no charges have been filed.
