On June 4, 2023, the Springfield Police Department received reports of a shooting in the early morning hours and dispatched officers to a parking lot located at 1336 West Sunshine Street in Springfield, Missouri. Arriving at the scene at approximately 3:47 a.m., law enforcement discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The injured individual was identified as 24-year-old Adrian Gutierrez, a Hispanic male who was originally from Sun Valley, California.
