On June 23, 2023, 30-year-old Ryan R. Jackson was involved in a fatal shooting in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred near East 10th and Locust Streets, where Jackson allegedly shot and killed 25-year-old Cyree Crook. Surveillance footage reportedly shows two men assaulting Crook before Jackson fired the fatal shot.
