On June 25, 2023, at approximately 2 a.m., Kansas City, Missouri, police responded to reports of gunfire in the 3600 block of Michigan Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 17-year-old Ricky Monroe unresponsive inside a vehicle parked in front of a residence, suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services transported Monroe to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
