In the early hours of Sunday, June 25, 2023, gunshots shattered the night in the 3600 block of Michigan Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. Responding to reports of the shooting at approximately 2 a.m., police officers discovered 17-year-old Ricky Monroe inside a vehicle, suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.
