On September 23, 2023, 34-year-old Manuel Barrera was found deceased from multiple gunshot wounds inside his residence in the 11100 block of East 10th Street in Independence, Missouri. Police responded to a call around 2 p.m. and discovered Barrera's body upon arrival.
