On Sunday, March 11, 2018, a tragic sequence of events unfolded at a residence in Independence, Missouri, leading to the discovery of two deceased individuals. Authorities were alerted to the home after family members expressed concern, prompting a welfare check by the Independence Police Department. Upon entering the property, officers located the bodies of a married couple inside the house where they had lived for many years.
The male deceased was identified as 81-year-old John Ellis Longwith, who was found alongside his wife, Kay Francis Longwith.
