On the night of March 14, 2018, 30-year-old Christopher A. Harris Jr. was driving his eight-year-old daughter home from her dance class. The male victim arrived at a residence in the 16600 block of East 28th Place in Independence, Missouri, intending to drop the child off at her mother's home. As Harris pulled into the driveway, a vehicle that had been tailing them pulled in directly behind his car. Two men exited the trailing vehicle and immediately opened fire.
