On November 25, 2023, 16-year-old Derrick White, known to friends as "Tink," tragically lost his life in a shooting incident at his home in Kansas City, Missouri. The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) responded to reports of a shooting around 3 p.m. in the 3200 block of Park Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found Derrick unresponsive with a gunshot wound; despite immediate life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
