On January 1, 2024, at approximately 4 a.m., Malik Jones, a 20-year-old resident of Caruthersville, Missouri, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 500 block of West Ada Street in Charleston, Missouri. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
