On February 9, 2024, a violent disturbance erupted at a residence in the 1300 block of North Lynn Street in Independence, Missouri, leading to a tragic double homicide. Independence police officers responded to the scene around 3:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting in the residential neighborhood near William Southern Elementary School.
