On April 22, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., 21-year-old Simeon Diaz was fatally shot in the 4400 block of Elmbank Avenue in St. Louis' Greater Ville neighborhood. First responders found Diaz at the scene, where he was pronounced dead.
Reports suggest that Diaz was caught in a hail of gunfire during a botched robbery attempt involving multiple assailants armed with fully automatic weapons. He was struck by six rounds while attempting to protect a friend.
