On July 7, 2024, 47-year-old Gustova Henton was shot in the abdomen while on his sister's porch near Thekla Avenue and Kingshighway in St. Louis' Mark Twain neighborhood. His sister, who was inside the house at the time, heard gunshots and screaming. Upon finding her brother injured, she immediately drove him to a hospital, where he underwent surgery and was listed in critical condition.
