On a Tuesday morning in Kansas City, Missouri, the sound of gunfire shattered the calm near the intersection of E 55th and Paseo Boulevard. It was just before 9 a.m. on July 30, 2024, when police officers in the vicinity heard the shots. As they began to search the area, a call came in reporting a shooting nearby.
