On August 4, 2024, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Kansas City, Missouri, police responded to a reported shooting in the 2000 block of Manchester Trafficway. Upon arrival, officers were directed by a security guard to a vehicle where they discovered 21-year-old Louis Hobart Runnels suffering from gunshot wounds. Runnels was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Despite medical efforts, Runnels succumbed to his injuries on August 8, 2024, four days after the incident.
